Champions League Draw

Yes its that time again, ah it is here the long awaited second round draw to the champions league. Well maybe am exaggerating little, but one cannot deny that this draw may prove to be one of the most exciting in years. So i got up this morning bright and early to view the draw and this is what i got...

Chelsea vs Juventus - the Old Lady versus the New Russians should give us some degree of quality football...a suppose...lets hope Del Piero is not injured...cause that would mean the end of quality football...lol

Villareal vs Pana - Yes i knew that there must be a stinker in there and this draw is most definitely it...

Sporting Lisbon vs Bayern Munich - Not much to say here...the tie speaks for itself...

Atletico Madrid vs FC Porto - not such a big glamour draw, but interesting none the less....who am i kidding this will be a yawn fest for the ages.

Lyon vs Barcelona - am sure none of teams envy Lyon right about now

Real Madrid vs Liverpool - This should be a whopper, Juande wanting to prove to the EPL fans that he was not a hack will sure have the merengues geed up to face the scousers. Not to mention two of the most successful clubs in europe.

Arsenal vs Roma - Two proponents of the beautiful game, will go head to head. From the biased opinion of an Arsenal fan this draw could have been worst, but i think this tie could go anyway.

Inter Milan vs Manchester United - will i will just skip the crap about on field antics and get to the better off field stuff. Just think of the prospect of Sir Alex going head to head with the special one.

So there it is the CL draw some very interesting tie as we initially thought, but smack dab in that u have the proverbial bore fest. So its until january then...or is it February...a will check the calender and confirm...if only the second round was next week...but we all now how football can change in a whim so in a couple of weeks these ties may look starkly different.

No one can argue that the tie of round must go to Inter Milan vs. Manchester United...can anyone recall the last time someone called Jose Mourinho with a certain FC Porto visited the "theatre of dreams" what the result was...well this time it is not FC Porto but, there is still one constant i.e. Jose Mourinho...this makes for a mouth watering tie. Why? well first down, the last time these two great managers met...was arguable Mourinho's real introduction to the British media...which to date they still can't get enough of the ‘special one’. Second down, the last time these two managers tested their wits against each other, the odds were stock in Fergie's corner...yet the special one came out on top, claiming he out-smarted the oldest Fox in the game, Fergie...Third and Fourth, this was arguably Fergies best chance to get his hands on a second European crown and he blew it...well his keeper did...don't believe...look at what happened to Tim Howard after that game...For the final play, the two most successful mangers in 21st century go at it again...Jose wanting to get an English team, now he has one...not sure he wanted Manu though but, knowing him, he will say he got exactly what he wanted...to stamp is class once again...then, there is the chance for Fergie to exact some revenge by sticking it to Jose by virtue of knocking out Inter...If this does not happen then another early exit beckons for Manu...am sure such a possibility would be all to familiar for Piecarwil...c'mon Manu stick to the Italians...BPL rules...cheers

well i agree with you about the fact that it may be tie of the round...even though liverpool v real madrid is pretty interesting...but the whole fergie mourinho thing just edge this tie infront...i must say i have mixed feelinsg towards this tie... on one hand i hate Man U and want to see them lose....on the otehr hand I hate Moronho and would love to see him crash on burn...so i think i will remain nuetral and just hope for some good football...oh by the way the romans versus the gunners may be a likkle interesting...not being biased at all

I prob going a bit crazy, but it just seems that the draw was out for english teams. All four english teams have very tough outtings, being a red devil, we probably have the toughest. But i'm not complaining...Italian Champions vs English Champions, very mouthwatering and should provide very intense competition for the neutrals. GGMU

Rubberbob you seem to forget who is the current european champions, so your statement of leaving the tournament early doesn't hold, just think i would made that correction.
